Cherokee Registry

The free tools and resources on this site are meant to aid families in researching their Cherokee ancestry and registering for tribal citizenship. Our goal has always been to collect the stories and family histories of descendants of members of the historical Cherokee Nation. From this foundation, to develop ways to connect elements of one story with another so as to discover new clues and information not otherwise possible.

Not only are the stories of tribal members important, but non-Natives whose ancestors were a part of Cherokee history. An example would be the Rev. Evan Jones.

We have worked to develop software and phone applications that can aid in connecting family history and story elements, locate and/or mark Cherokee family graves, and help people to correct their own family trees.

While those who work with the Cherokee Registry are citizens of the Cherokee Nation, we do not claim to be affiliated with or endorsed by the Cherokee Nation or any other tribe.
