Welcome to the Cherokee Registry, a genealogy website designed to help families research and document their Cherokee ancestry, preserve their heritage stories, and navigate the path to tribal citizenship.

By accessing and using our website, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access and use of our website, mobile applications, and other online services we provide (collectively, the “Services”), so please read them carefully. By accessing or using the Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these terms and conditions, please do not use our website.

Definitions: In these terms and conditions:

“Agreement” means the Customer Information, Selected Options, Relevant Pricing and these terms and conditions (as updated from time to time under clause 8 below);

“Signature ready” as used for subscriptions means an application for tribal citizenship and application for a Certificate of Degree of Indian Blood (CDIB) have been completed by us with the exception of Confidential information that must be personally added by the customer ;

“Confidential Information” includes, but is not limited to, your social security number, financial account information, and any other personal identifying information you provide to us in connection with your use of our services, except for information public domain without any breach of the Agreement; (b) on receipt by the other party is already known by that party; (c) is at any time after the date of receipt by the other party, received in good faith by that party from a third party; (d) required by law to be disclosed by the other party;

“Membership” means membership in the CherokeeRegistry.com website by customers who have completed registration and paid any relevant pricing required for the selected options;

“Relevant Pricing” means the pricing specified on the Website for provision of the Service, and where Selected Options apply, means the pricing for the Selected Options;

“Selected Options” means, if there are options to choose from for provision of the Service (which may, amongst other options, include the type of service to be provided, the relevant pricing, the maximum number of users or the term for which the Service is to be provided), the options selected during Registration for provision of the Services;

“Services” means the Cherokee Registry service provided by the Supplier to it’s registered members as described in the on the various pages of the Website, as modified from time to time by the Supplier;

“Supplier” means Caldwell Media Associates,

“Subscription” means subscribe on the Website for the Customer to receive the Service;

By accessing and using our website, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions. 1. Membership and Subscriptions

  • You may need to create an account and potentially pay a subscription fee to access certain features of the Services.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account information and for all activity that occurs under your account.
  • You agree to keep your account information accurate and updated.
  • Your membership subscription provides access to our research services, not direct access to additional databases. As part of your subscription, we conduct all necessary database queries on your behalf, including those from sources not publicly available.
  • We will never ask for your social security number or other confidential information. In cases where an application requires it, you will add it after receiving the applications from us for you to sign and mail directly to the tribal registration office.
  • We do not provide “vital records” such as birth and death certificates. These must be obtained from the appropriate government agencies.

2. Content Use
The Services contain content owned by us and our licensors (“Content”).

  • You may only use the Content for your personal genealogical research or as otherwise expressly permitted by us.
  • You may not download, copy, distribute, modify, or create derivative works of the Content without our written permission.
  • You may not remove any copyright or other proprietary notices on the Content.

3. User Conduct

  • You agree to use the Services in a lawful and respectful manner.
  • You will not post any content that is illegal, threatening, defamatory, abusive, harassing, invasive of privacy, or otherwise objectionable.
  • You will not use the Services for any commercial purposes without our written permission.
  • You will not violate any applicable laws or regulations.

4. Disclaimers and Limitations of Liability

  • The Services are provided “as is” and without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
  • We do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.
  • We will not be liable for any damages arising from your use of the Services, including but not limited to, direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages.
  • We understand that using our service may lead you to information that’s surprising, upsetting, or even inaccurate. You might discover things about your ancestors, family, tribe, or clan that you weren’t expecting. It’s natural to have strong emotions about these discoveries, and others you share them with might feel the same. However, by using our service, you agree to accept the risks involved and hold Cherokee Registry harmless from any social, emotional, or legal issues that arise from these discoveries or interactions.

5. Term and Termination

  • We may terminate your access to the Services for any reason, at any time, without notice.
  • You may terminate your account at any time.

6. Governing Law
These Terms will be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Georgia, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

7. Entire Agreement
These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding your use of the Services.

We may revise these Terms at any time by posting the revised Terms on the Terms and Conditions page.
